Today, for the first time on the blog I would love to introduce to you guys to a new favourite brand of mine, Palladium. Not only have they become my go-to summer shoes this year, but they also have a great brand history that will surely inspire you.

So before I get into the new shoes that I think are all the rave this summer, I want to let you know a little more about Palladium’s brand and how they got started. Mainly because I think it’s an interestingly cool story but also because it’s the first time they are being featured here at Toronto Fashionista so it’s a must. The thing I enjoy about their journey most, is how they adapted to the changing world and moved into the world of shoes.

A little Palladium Background
Palladium actually started as a company that manufactures aircraft tires. The brand thrived by introducing next-level technology that made them the largest aircraft tire supplier in Europe. As the demand for aircraft tires began to diminish in the late 1940’s, Palladium opened its first footwear factory in France. Utilizing their expertise to make boots, they created boots so comfortable and durable that they were adopted by the legendary French Foreign Legion and explorers trekking out into extreme conditions. In the 90s the brand became super fashionable in the grunge and rave scenes before going on a slight hiatus until 2009. Palladium re-launched with the urban explorer in mind and modernized construction techniques used on previous shoes. The updated manufacturing process enabled the brand to develop boots using modern fabrics and materials while still remaining true to the brand and it’s history. Palladium now offers boots and shoes for modern day explorers to withstand any adventure you have planned.
So now that you know a little bit more about Palladium, let’s get talking about the S/S15 Macaron Collection that’s inspired by the brands French heritage. Palladium introduced  the Macaron Collection this spring which includes a colourful range of footwear modeled after the most popular flavors of the macaron, a traditional French dessert. The pastel, pastry-inspired hues are available in three popular Palladium silhouettes: the Flex Ballet, the Flex Lace and the Baggy. Each model features a solid canvas upper with tonal lacing and supportive rubber outsoles. The collection includes a variety of 6 colours which include: Raspberry, Mango, Blueberry, Lemon, Pistachio and Lavender.

For this beautiful summer we’ve been having I got my hands on 3 pairs of the Macaron Flex Lace collection. The colours I got are  Blueberry, Raspberry and Pistachio and they are all super comfortable which is simply perfect for summer. The ballet flat-inspired line boasts a durable, cotton canvas upper attached to a one-piece molded rubber outsole with a cushioned footbed that delivers sustainable comfort. Explore your city, or venture out to the wilderness in your Palladium Flex Lace sneaks and feel great all day long. The colours are perfect for bright, sunny days too and can easily be paired with shorts or even a cute skirt. I especially recommend these for those who love adventures but still want to look fashionable. These shoes effortlessly band together durability, comfort and style all in one shoe. The Palladium Flex Lace Macaron collection is also super affordable for just $50 online! Check out my three pairs out on adventures below and also visit online today to get your own pair of Palladium shoes today.
